Millwork Engineer/Drafter
Fineline Architectural Millwork is a full-service millwork company specializing in high-end residential and boutique commercial projects. From finish carpentry and trim packages to comprehensive woodwork solutions, we take pride in delivering world-class craftsmanship and exceptional service.
We are always looking for skilled professionals to join our team, including the role of Millwork Engineer/Drafter. In this position, you will collaborate with our project managers by producing accurate millwork shop drawings, specifying materials and hardware, and preparing comprehensive documentation to support efficient manufacturing and installation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Shop Drawings: Produce highly detailed, accurate drawings, incorporating all necessary specifications for installation, coordination with trades, materials, appliances, fixtures, and hardware.
- Design Specification: Collaborate with project managers and clients during design meetings to identify and document all project details, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
- Project Support: Assist project managers with tasks such as preparing and tracking submittals, performing material takeoffs, managing schedules, placing orders, and drafting change orders.
- Best Practices Development: Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and estimators to identify and document efficient installation methods and standards, creating illustrated guides for field teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural blueprints.
- Millwork and cabinetry shop drawing production
- Advanced skills in AutoCAD – 5 years’ experience.
- Advanced skills in Cabinet Vision 2022 – 5 years’ experience.
- Experience with cabinet and door hardware, material takeoffs, and cut billing.
- Strong skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF markup/editing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Focused, disciplined, and solution-oriented mindset with a “can-do” attitude.
- working Knowledge of finish carpentry, cabinet making, and millwork trade.

Job Description:
As an Installer with Fineline Architectural Millwork, you will be responsible for the installation of custom millwork products in luxury residential homes. Your role will involve working on a variety of high-end projects, including cabinetry, moulding, paneling, staircases, doors, windows, and other architectural millwork.
The successful candidate will have experience working on luxury residential projects, possess a keen eye for detail, and have the ability to work efficiently in high-profile environments. You will represent Fineline’s commitment to excellence and precision in every aspect of the job.
Responsibilities:
- Install high-end custom millwork including cabinetry, trim, doors, windows, mouldings, paneling, and other architectural features to the highest standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation according to the project requirements.
- Ensure quality control by checking the finished installation for precision, fit, and finish.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely completion of installation projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at each job site to promote safety and efficiency.
- Inspect materials and products prior to installation to ensure they meet the necessary specifications and are free from defects.
- Follow safety guidelines and company protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating with clients professionally and ensuring that their expectations are met or exceeded.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the installation of high-end millwork products, preferably in luxury residential environments.
- Strong knowledge of millwork and cabinetry installation techniques, including the use of professional tools and equipment.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various job sites across the Orange County and Los Angeles areas.
- Own a full set of professional tools necessary for millwork installation (tools may include but are not limited to saws, drills, levels, measuring tapes, and hand tools).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work with precision.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Reliable, professional, and punctual with excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-end luxury homes and estates.
- Knowledge of finish carpentry and custom woodwork installation.
- Ability to install specialized architectural features such as custom moldings, staircases, and paneling.
- Familiarity with the latest industry trends and materials in luxury millwork.

Pay:
$28.00/hr. – $34.00/hr., based on experience and expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Operate woodworking machinery, including saws, sanders, and routers, to craft high-quality millwork components.
- Interpret and execute detailed production drawings, specifications, and measurements with precision and accuracy.
- Select, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other premium materials into finely crafted finished products.
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials and finished products to uphold Fineline’s exceptional quality standards.
- Collaborate with a team of highly skilled professionals to troubleshoot challenges and meet production deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to stringent safety protocols.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and promptly report any malfunctions.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and supplies, proactively addressing shortages to minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a custom millwork production shop or related woodworking environment.
- Proficiency with woodworking machinery and tools, such as planers, jointers, saws, and routers.
- Strong understanding of advanced woodworking techniques, production processes, and industry quality standards.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex technical drawings, measurements, and specifications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing work of the highest craftsmanship.
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and best practices in production settings.
- Dependable team player with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Bilingual in Spanish: Strong ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish to collaborate with diverse team members and ensure clarity in production processes.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and perform hands-on tasks for extended periods.
